History

-supports Germany during French Wars > Fourth French War (1880-4) in the name of autonomy from Hungary

-gets it and becomes independent kingdom in personal union with Germany

-but unease increases as increasingly clear Croatia is stagnant, a mere vassal of Germany


-eventually dissent over new law curtailing autonomy results in Croatian Sabor issuing UDI, resulting in French Wars > Sixth French War (1937-41)
-new country is nominally a continued kingdom, under a regency

-however, run under National Catholics very, very enthused about writings of Joseph de Maistre and they believe in absolute monarchism

-in 1946, Croatia elects Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen branch (recently removed from their old principality) as its royal line
-new state is quite shit, run by Catholic theocratic absolute monarchists

-despite this, is in alliance in France

-a lot of Jews, Serbs break up

-in 1960s, France finally breaks its alliance with these psychos following government change

-finally, in 1975, following Russian revolution, Croatians violently rebel, overthrow the Sabor


-new regime is a genuinely democratic one

-however, faced with rising tensions from both left and right to detriment of everyone
